Outdoor STEM classes for kids
Welcome!
COVID-19 Update: Unfortunately classes are currently on-hold due to the uncertain climate that we find ourselves living in. As soon as it is safe to do so I will update this page with new sessions and times. Stay safe!xx
weeSTEMs lead fun and creative outdoor STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) sessions for kids and families.
Our classes take place in the beautiful Balloch Castle Country Park (West Dunbartonshire) – close to Glasgow and on the beautiful banks of Loch Lomond.
We bridge the gap between formal education and forest school – ensuring your child gets the best of both worlds whilst playing outside (read more about Our Ethos).
Experiments range from identifying local minibeasts, to creating ‘blood’, to reading secret fairy maps, to exploring friction, to identifying the muscles bats use to hang upside down. Each session encourages your family to explore a range of STEM concepts through play at your own pace and through individual means of enquiry.
There are two age groups – although anybody is welcome to either session (please contact us if you’re not sure).
“Teaching children about the natural world should be treated as one of the most important events in their lives.”
